Frontier Scientific (Utah location) is a chemical developer, manufacturer and custom research services provider to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, industrial chemical, government, and academic sectors. Frontier Scientific specializes in the development of chemical compounds and processes related to porphyrins, phthalocyanines and boronic acids. Frontier Scientific develops building blocks for small molecule drug discovery, SAR studies, and lead optimization. Frontier Scientific provides standard catalog products with production quantities generally in the milligram to kilogram scale. Frontier Scientific's NMR, GCMS, LCMS, and UV/VIS spectrophotometer are located in-house to ensure quality compounds and quick turn around on projects. Frontier Scientific is a privately held corporation established in 1975 and headquartered in Logan, Utah.

 Job Description / Responsibilities

• Learns and maintains legacy systems while looking for improvements to both software and business processes.
• Works with end and internal users to troubleshoot issues and ensure software meets defined business and user requirements.
• Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

 

Requisition and Required Experience/Background

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming
• Experience with .NET framework using C# with Visual Studio
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008/2012/2014), including design and implementation of tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures
• Exposure to n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Experience with MVC framework and REST Services
• Experience with XML and JSON and related technologies
• Understanding of version control
• Experience with jQuery, javascript and javascript libraries such as Angular is a plus
• Working in an agile/scrum environment experience is a plus
• Chemistry or cheminformatics experience is a plus

Position Description
