  1. Data Analytics / Business Intelligence: Our Analytics & BI department is seeking a summer intern.
    • Develop and perform queries to ensure high quality data in a large data warehouse
    • Support various ad hoc projects through extracting and transforming data from the warehouse using proprietary report writer tools
    • Develop and maintain documentation of department processes

  2. Simulations Lab: Assist the Network Simulation Center in creating custom task trainers for educational and training purpose for users in the Network, which includes medical students, residents, nurses/nursing students, providers and more. Such task trainers include but not limited to: Foley trainers, central line trainers, wound management care, etc. See details and apply.
  3. Development:The intern may spend time in each of our major areas (advancement services, grants, special events, development communications and major gifts) and will be given specific projects to complete during the internship.  See details and apply.
  4. Community Health: St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine is offering two paid internships (for the summer of 2018) with a chronic disease and healthy living focus. The objective of the internship is to gain work experience in organizing and evaluating chronic disease and healthy living programs. Supply Chain Management: St. Luke's University Health Network is currently seeking 2 summer interns for our Procurement/Supply Chain Logistics department.The first position, in Supply Chain, will be based at our Race Street, Allentown facility. the intern will review Courier Services and the Hub & Spoke approach to basing couriers in support of our sprawling Network. The intern will also look at Warehouse Management Solutions to increase order fulfillment efficiencies and improve campus support. The second position, in Procurement, will be based at St. Luke's Center, Allentown, and will involve projects related to analyzing processes. Choose Your Information Technology Summer Internship:
  1. Cloud Automation: As St. Luke’s migrates their systems to the Microsoft Azure Cloud environment and moves to more of a zero touch platform, you will assist in identifying systems to migrate to cloud, test plans, designs of how our Cloud Strategy will be built,/designed,  along with our Win10 initiatives.
  2. Security-Identity Management: Taking a centralized approach to Role and Attribute based access control by instituting governance around access and adopting a technology driven least privilege concept to all IT access across the network.  This program takes a deep look into what each department does, how their business functions, what they need access to and how that affects their day to day operations. 
  3. Service Now Systems Developer: Data management and process engineering opportunity for a motivated data sleuth who likes to create order from chaos. ServiceNow is the IT issues tracking system used within St. Luke’s. The end result of your investigation will be a well-crafted and well-thought out automation of processes as part of the ServiceNow data management project. Your challenge will be to confront and troubleshoot issues related to user and group data in the ServiceNow IT Service Management platform that create duplicates, allow data to become stale, and cause headaches for both end users and IT automation processes. An ideal candidate will have skills and interest in data management and IT service management as well as Java and DBA/SQL experience.
  4. IT Process Analyst: This intern will experience how ITIL processes function within a large IT organization. From Incident, Problem, Change and Knowledge management, individual will work within Service Management application to understand how processes flow throughout the entire department and interact with all teams. Candidate will analyze existing processes to assist in reducing incidents and improve quality. Skills should include: process management, project management, and application administration.
  5. Project Management Office-Mobile Apps: Work hand in hand with the IT Project Manager running the Mobile App project utilizing an agile project methodology.
  6. Data Matching using Machine Learning: The St. Luke’s IT Reporting Team is developing a program to match patient and provider records from disparate systems using machine learning algorithms.  This effort will involve analysis of large datasets and defining rules to predict matching records.  Technologies used will range from databases such as SQL server and Hadoop in addition to object-oriented programming languages such as Python and C#.  This project is geared towards computer science, engineering and statistics majors or students who have experience in the technologies mentioned above.
  7. Application Analyst: To learn about and participate in the implementation of IT applications supporting population health, care coordination, and employee wellness initiatives.  This Application Analyst internship role will be responsible for analyzing and documenting current state vs. future state, making recommendations for optimization, completing system testing, technical tasks required for implementation, and reporting status to project managers and team leads.   
  8. Technical Competitive Intelligence: Support internal initiatives related to St. Luke’s competitive intelligence – focusing on local market technical capabilities, identifying and validating internal gaps/opportunities, and objective analysis of market trends and threats.  The intern will be responsible for executing 1 or 2 specific competitive intelligence requests from senior IT leadership, which includes primary and secondary research and executive presentations of findings at the end of the program. 
  9. Telemedicine: Intern will experience working with coordinating and building the technical components of our Network telemedicine strategy.
  10. Decommissioning: Intern will experience in assisting with initiatives for St. Luke's achieve system.  Work with an analyst and project team to bring legacy system data into the achieve system. 
  11. Development: Intern will work with an IT product owner to deliver a new product for our consumers (patients).  This role will with the business sponsor of the product, creating detailed user stories & planning future roadmap of features for the product such as the mobile application.
