Carroll Engineering, manufacturer of MuniLogic – Municipal Management Software, has a paid-intern position open for an innovative, motivated Computer Science, Database or Software Development student with experience in creating custom database forms, reports using SQL queries, and GIS.
Based in our Warrington, PA office, this individual will be working alongside our GIS and Information Management Department to develop and integrate data from a client’s legacy systems into MuniLogic formats and producing custom database forms and reports using SQL queries. Candidates for this position should have a strong attention to detail as well as creative problem solving skills. This individual should have strong understanding of database management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Data Conversion
  • Create custom database forms and reports using SQL queries.
  • Create database relationships from legacy system to MuniLogic database structures.
  • Work with various types of data formats such as Excel spreadsheets, CSV files, Access databases as well as SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Write SQL scripts to update data and convert provided data to MuniLogic software formats
  • Create custom mapping requests using shapefiles, geodatabases, rasters, and other related GIS formats

Key Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled as a junior/senior undergraduate or graduate student
  • Currently enrolled in the computer science, developer, or geography related field
  • GIS experience using ESRI and open source products
  • Strong database and SQL knowledge
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills required to successfully lead in a fast-paced work environment

Position 2: Network Operations Center Internship

Position Summary:

 Ensure the continued availability, stability, and performance of the customer networks while learning and working in a mentored environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Follow documented NOC standards and procedures
• Enhance existing process and procedures
• Observe and control the status and performance of system components and network facilities
• Identifies, diagnoses and resolves problems affecting system and network performance
• Answers incoming problem call from customer and internal sites and resolves associated tickets
• Write incidents reports & document events
• Follow procedures; provide updates, ask questions, take action, follow up on missing, incomplete or unresolved issues
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge in Windows and Linux based Systems, ITIL principles, Monitoring and Ticketing Systems, web server technologies, and TCP/IP networking and hardware all a plus, but not required. COMPETENCIES:
