Job Title: Database Administrator 1
Employment Opportunity: The PA Department of Corrections is currently
recruiting to fill one vacancy for Database Administrator 1 position in
Cumberland County.
Nature of Work: Database Administrators perform advanced technical and administrative work in data management through planning, design, implementation, and operation of database systems. You will work to on the project to develop a new Offender Management System using the latest Microsoft technologies, including SQL 2016.
In order to be
considered, applicants must be Pennsylvania
residents, pass the civil service exam for Database Administrator 1 and
meet the following requirements: three years of information technology
experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of
databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate’s
degree in any information technology field; or five years of information
technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and
maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or one year
of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance
of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's
degree in any information technology field; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
After a conditional offer of employment is
received, one must undergo a medical examination and pass a background
investigation. After hire, one must
attend and complete a three-week basic training program at the Department of
Corrections' Central Training Academy in Elizabethtown, which is in Lancaster
County.

Starting Salary: $58,719 - $89,213
annually. Salary is commensurate upon
experience. This position comes with an
