General Responsibilities:

• Ongoing development and support of Inventory Pro OnLine (IPOL) and Mobile products
• Ongoing product develop
• Develop with customizations per customer specifications.

Position could possibly include some travel to client sites for product installation, training and support reasons.  Trips are generally 1 or 2 days long with the very occasional trip that would last longer.  Trips would be relatively rare.

Software Development Engineer – R&D Software Development

 These software engineering positions will be in our R&D facility in Telford, PA. The candidate will participate in development of software for products including but not limited to dimensioning systems and industrial cameras and controllers. The ideal candidate will have strong software development skills and the ability to contribute at a high level in terms of architecture definition and implementation. The candidate should be effective working on small teams and on an individual basis; be comfortable presenting their findings and solutions to larger peer and management audiences. 

In summary the candidate will: 

1. Develop software and software architectures to support new product or feature development 

2. Work cross functionally on product development 

3. Create documentation to support software development work in the creation of product solutions 

4. Support and initiate demonstrations of software functionality 

5. Collaborate with peers as a member of the R&D team 

Education: 

BS/MS CS or related field 

 

Experience level and minimum job requirements 

• Minimum 3 years as a Software Engineer developing embedded software 
• Experience with embedded Linux systems 
• Expert in C/C++ programming and debugging in an embedded environment with and without an emulator 
• Experience with at least one real time operating system (Nucleus RTOS a plus) 
• Solid written and verbal skills. 
• Independent thinker, self-starter, passion for problem solving 
• Demonstrable leadership qualities 
• Strong commitment to teamwork
• Ability to interface with other functions (hardware, test, etc.) throughout the development lifecycle 

Advanced capabilities 

• Ability or background working in a multi-cultural business environment 
• Algorithm prototyping using Matlab 
• Experience with network programming and protocols 
• Experience interfacing with low-level hardware functions, including hands-on experience with lab debug equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
